An Irish rogue wins the heart of a rich widow and assumes her dead husband's aristocratic position in 18th-century England.
'Barry Lyndon has gotta be the best movie about the Victorian times. Certainly it is a very well made film. Due to the unique filming style, the movie looks like a flat Victorian age painting. It has breathtaking visuals. While to duration is a bit overwhelming it is still a very engaging story about the disgusting world of European aristocrats. Not Kubrick at his best but I recommend it nevertheless.'
